Church, gratitude, service, and the regular reminder that my plans are not sovereign. That belongs near the middle.
Home is the filter
Heidi and the kids are the test. If the work does not fit life at home, the spreadsheet is missing a column.
Useful beats shiny
A handoff that works. A checklist that saves time. A business with customers. I like boring things that keep working.
Lunch counts, apparently
The kids think I go to lunch for a living. This is not a complete business model, but it is also not entirely inaccurate.
Engines require explanations
I love engines. Boats, airplanes, cars, lawn equipment - all fascinating, all capable of turning into invoices. I have done my part to keep mechanics in business.
Technology should earn it
I like AI and automation when they reduce friction. I have less patience for theater with a login screen.

Born in Texas, raised mostly in Nebraska, then back to DFW. Speech and debate probably did more for my future than football, though that is less fun to admit.
Naval Aviation
NROTC at Univ. of Oklahoma, flight school in Pensacola and Corpus, stationed in San Diego, instructor in Florida, and Reserves today. The checklist discipline has stayed with me.
Heidi and the Family
Heidi and I knew each other in high school, dated in college, and built a life that now includes Lily, Dex, Max, Hux, and a household where quiet hours remain theoretical.

Real estate went from hobby to full-time work through Climb Capital, with multifamily, mobile home parks, RV parks, and a lot of operating lessons.

Velocity Restorations turned into a full-time operator chapter: growth, teams, systems, quality, and the useful discomfort of being responsible for outcomes.
